For three weeks, more than 3,000 horses will take part in Western, Dressage and Hunter/Jumper competitions at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in coastal Del Mar. Spectators will see reining, spins, sliding stops, elegant dressage moves choreographed to music, daredevil show jumping, trick riders, comedy acts, thrills and spills and more.

Fallbrook Avocado Festival

Port of San Diego Day at The Docks


The Port Of San Diego’s Day At The Docks is the West Coast’s largest public celebration of sportfishing and signals the official start of Southern California’s spring saltwater fishing season. There will be the latest fishing tackle, how-to seminars, casting contests, kids’ fishing, boat rides, music, food and plenty more.

San Diego EarthFair


Set in Balboa Park, the 24th annual EarthFair is the largest free annual environmental fair in the world. With around 70,000 visitors and more than 400 volunteers, the event features exhibitors, a food pavilion, kids area, live entertainment, parade, art show and a “clean” car concourse.

Make sure to be green and take alternative modes of transportation to get to EarthFair.

I would love to know what they are doing that is so top secret.What is your favorite San Diego outdoor activity?So many choices, but if I have to pick one I would choose bikingrunningsoccerbocceball. Though sitting outside with a good book on a sunny day would come in close second.Do you prefer burgers and beer or linguine and red wine?Nothing could be better than a San Diego Craft Beer (Hess, Stone, Ballast Point, Automatic, and many many more) and a burger with onion rings and BBQ-sauce. Though you will often find me boiling some pasta with a glass of wine in my hand and Ratatouille on in the background.Latest music purchases for my iPod/MP3 player are…A few albums by Jonathan Coulton, the ultimate geek musician.
