Bring the World Cup to San Diego

San Diego fans and soccer fanatics: San Diego has the opportunity of a lifetime to become the U.S. host city of the Word Cup in either 2018 or 2012. So far, we’ve already had 5,500 sign the petition to bring the World Cup to America’s Finest City, but we need your support to make this happen. As proved by the Travelocity gnome’s visit to San Diego after our glorious win over Los Angeles and Miami, we already know that San Diego is America’s favorite beach city. Now, we need to show the world that our first-class destination should host this world-renowned event. It’s our GOOOAALLLL to have the most signatures on the petition, so sign today and share with your friends and family.

About Katie S.

I’m a 25-year old arts and culture nut who loves animals, grammar, live music, farmer’s markets, hysterically bad movies, anything that smells like pumpkin, shoes and Chipotle.

What would you do on your ideal San Diego day?

I’d start my day with a breakfast burrito and a morning run on the beach at Fiesta Island with my dog.  Then I’d bring a picnic lunch to the Japanese Friendship Garden, and end my day rocking out at a concert.

If you were invisible, where would you go?

The Chargers locker room.

What is your favorite San Diego outdoor activity?

I love shopping at the kitschy stores in Hillcrest and finding great deals at the outlet malls. Shopping is an outdoor activity, right?

Do you prefer burgers and beer or linguine and red wine?

I’m a vegetarian, so I’d have to say veggie burgers and beer. My favorite is the veggie burgers at the Wild Note Café that are made fresh with hummus.

Latest music purchases for my iPod/MP3 player are…

  • Easy Star All-Stars “With A Little Help From My Friends”

  • Fleet Foxes “White Winter Hymnal”

  • Franz Ferdinand “Ulysses”

  • DeVotchka “How It Ends”
