November 5, 2010 By Benjamin Eastman The New Cruise Ship Pier is a-comin’! The Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier San Diegans are excited about the upcoming grand revealing of the new cruise ship terminal on Broadway Pier! This beautiful building has been under construction over the past year and is almost ready to start accepting cruise ships! The construction of the building is pretty interesting, has a great flow out to the water, and they are striving to get their Silver LEED certification by using sustainable and environmentally friendly materials. The Port Pavillion’s colors and artwork will be a fantastic addition to our waterscape and they’re even incorporating some space on the pier to allow for larger public events and festivals. I had the pleasure of taking a hard hat tour of the building yesterday and am excited to see the finished product next month! But don’t take my word for how cool of a building it is! The Port of San Diego is hosting an Open House in December and everyone’s invited! Here are the details: Saturday, December 18, 2010 10:00am – 4:00pm: Public Open House 4:00pm – Dedication Ceremony Address: 1000 North Harbor Drive San Diego, CA 92101
