A two-month-old grey wolf pup played and rolled around in some ficus browse that keepers laid out for him to smell and chew on at the San Diego Zoo this morning.
Animal care staff members are introducing the wolf pup, named Shadow, to various smells and sights during the 30-day quarantine process, helping him prepare for his new role as an animal ambassador.
Once Shadow completes the quarantine period, he will live at Wegeforth Bowl and serve as an animal ambassador there, making appearances during educational presentations.
