I grew up in what was once the small beach town of Del Mar just north of downtown San Diego and even though I’ve been extremely fortunate to have visited 38 countries I haven’t found a city with more to offer than America’s Finest City.
What would you do on your ideal San Diego day?
There is no “ideal” day for me because there’s always something to do. If I’m not doing something that involves the water (fishing, surfing, diving) I can usually be found hiking around Torrey Pines State beach cliffs.
If you were invisible, where would you go?
I’d hang out with any one of the amazing animals at the animal parks including: a lion, cheetah, elephant, seal, polar bear, etc.
What is your favorite San Diego outdoor activity?
In order of preference: fishing, surfing, scuba diving, hiking, golfing, running, biking, parachuting, tennis, boating, waterskiing, and walking on the beach during sunset.
Do you prefer burgers and beer or linguine and wine?
I don’t really drink too much but if I had to choose I’d go with linguine and wine. But, my true favorites are Japanese and Mexican cuisine and I know the best places for both.
What music is on your iPhone?
I’m still stuck in the 80’s and old school rock including: Pink Floyd, Rush, David Bowie, Queen, but my favorite band is Tool. I can also be found listening to numerous composers like: Vivaldi, Mozart, Beethoven, Handel and any opera with Isabel Leonard.
Do you have any philanthropic pursuits?
Yes, I’m the founder and president of America’s only sustainable fishing charity: Fish. Food. Feel Good. To learn how we feed fish to over 80,000 annually for free please visit: www.f3g.org and don’t forget to “like” us on Facebook.
