As some of you know, I won a group surf lesson with Surf Diva via the San Diego Convention and Visitor’s Bureau website. Surf lessons? Me? BWAHAHA! But in the spirit of Embracing the Crazy this summer (it’s been a doozy!) I did just that. I took the challenge and just went for it. My family […]
5 to Try: Labor Day Weekend
Labor Day: the last long weekend of the summer. What comes to mind when you think of Labor Day? I think of the beach, barbequing and having fun with friends and family. Be sure to have some fun before school starts and we all have to start looking into fall and shorter days. Festival of […]
Sunny Jim Cave
Recently, our blogger extraordinaire Stephenie wrote an entry about interesting historical sites in San Diego. I realized after reading it my kids might actually get a kick out of seeing them (and learn something too!) I decided our first stop would be the Sunny Jim Cave, located in La Jolla. If you haven’t been or […]
5 To Try This Weekend: Extreme Water Sports Edition
With the weather hovering around a perfect 73 degrees this weekend, what better way to enjoy it than by spending the day in the great outdoors – and even better – on the water. In San Diego, you can run, ride, and skateboard near the water’s edge, and in the water is just as fun! […]

Old Globe Theatre Shakespeare Festival: Set against a backdrop of spectacular Balboa Park and nestled among beautiful eucalyptus trees is the outdoor […]
S’mores and More in San Diego
S ‘mores and summer go hand in hand, especially in San Diego where you can enjoy this delicious desert right on the beach. It’s a campfire classic that is so simple to make yet full of such gooey goodness. The more the marshmallow is burnt – the better! Want to make your own s ‘mores […]
Mad About Cycling in San Diego
With year round outdoor weather and varied terrain, San Diego is a cyclist’s paradise. If mountain biking is your thing, the East County has some great desert trails and rocky mountain paths that will surely please even the most discerning cyclist. One of the better known rides is Cuyamaca to Noble Canyon, located in the […]
5 to Try: Larger Than Yours
San Diego may not be home to the largest tire, the largest artichoke or the largest floating loon, but San Diego is home to some really neat “off-the-beaten path” attractions that just so happen to be largest too! (Ha, I’m such a good rapper) Spreckels Organ Pavilion: the world’s largest outdoor pipe organ Located in […]
San Diego and the Fish Taco – A Perfect Pair
There are two things that are sure to get San Diegans talking (other than sports); Which beach is the best, and where to eat the best fish tacos. While the fish taco officially started somewhere in Baja, San Diego has adopted it as its signature dish. Fish tacos can be found pretty much anywhere in San Diego – from the chain restaurant Rubio’s (one of the founding fish taco locations in San Diego) to more fine dining – George’s Ocean Terrace. So when you visit San Diego, be sure to try one – you won’t be disappointed. After the break are some of my favorite places for fish tacos.
Come Sail Away
That’s what American Way, the inflight magazine for American Airlines, is inviting its readers to do this month with a cover story on sailing with Dennis Conner’s America’s Cup Experience right here on San Diego Bay.
