Discover, Explore and Play at the San Diego Botanic Garden

During the entire month of October, kids can eat play and stay for free in San Diego with over 100 kids free offers from San Diego museums, restaurants, hotels and attractions.

Participating attractions include all the kids’ favorites: SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, LEGOLAND and the New Children’s Museum. But don’t overlook the opportunity to introduce youngsters to attraction they may not yet know – such as the San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas, home of the largest interactive children’s garden on the West Coast.

Sun, Surf and the Silver Screen: San Diego Film Festival 2012

From September 26-30th the San Diego Film Festival (SDFF) celebrates 11 years with more films, insightful industry panels and buzz-worthy events than ever before. While SDFF continues to screen films at the Reading Cinemas Gaslamp in the Gaslamp Quarter, as it has for the past 10 years, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego – La Jolla will also host numerous screenings and events. The duel locations allow SDFF to provide more opportunities to celebrate a wide spectrum of independent film while showcasing two of San Diego’s most popular and distinctive neighborhoods. If you can swing it, splurge on the VIP Festival Pass and enjoy the festival as it was meant to be – a celebration of creativity and community. S’Mores in San Diego

In San Diego, nights spent around a bonfire go hand in hand with the delicious mixture of chocolate, marshmallow and graham crackers. Along the 70 miles of San Diego coastline sit bonfire pits ready for a few pieces of wood to be lit and marshmallows pierced on wire coat hangers.

During the summer (and winter-spring), Mission Bay and Fiesta Island are great places stake out a bonfire pit during the day and enjoy the water and then continue the fun well into the evening with a bonfire, s’mores and a view of the SeaWorld’s Summer Nights Fireworks display.
