Located just minutes from downtown San Diego, Mission Bay Park is the largest park of its kind in the world, spread out over 4,200 sparkling acres. Something you may not know about this aquatic playground is that there are some really cool and surprising animal encounters along its 27 miles of beaches.

I'm lucky enough to live walking distance from a culinary corner in San Diego's North Park neighborhood that just gets better every day. While the entire span of 30th Street from Alchemy in South Park to Jayne's Gastropub in University Heights offers an unbelievable array of quality local choices, my little corner at 30th and Upas features an impressive mix of restaurants and bars within a few hundred yards of each other.

With the eagerly awaited arrival of Comic-Con International this week, San Diego is gleefully celebrating all things comic. And whether or not you were lucky enough to have scored Comic-Con tickets, you can certainly partake in San Diego’s love affair with the genre. No matter what time of year you visit San Diego, you’ll find the spirit of Comic-Con thriving at San Diego’s many comic book stores.
Mabuhay! That’s Tagalog for “cheers” or “welcome.” When you visit National City, south of downtown San Diego, you’ll indeed feel welcome to this tight-knit community that celebrates its rich Filipino heritage.
There’s no better way to experience San Diego’s Filipino culture than through its mouthwatering food. Following are a few of my favorite, tried and true restaurants to try, plus a couple bakeries to satisfy those sweet cravings.
Just in case you haven’t heard, there are two things that define San Diego: the beach and beer. Magic happens when these two come together. Such is the case with Draft, the newest restaurant at historic Belmont Park on Mission Beach. Draft recently opened its doors on the boardwalk overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean. So, in the spirit of research, and a much-needed drink, our blogger Edna stopped by with the mission to draft you a picture
San Diego International Comic-Con returns to the San Diego Convention Center on July 24-27, 2014, for its 45th year (though not all of those years have been at the Convention Center)! As Comic-Con has grown in popularity and size, the largest comics and pop culture event in the nation has spilled out into the Gaslamp Quarter and beyond. The best part about this expansion outward is that almost all of these events do not require the coveted Comic-Con badge!
