We here in San Diego are starting to get very excited because our inspired neighbors from the north are coming to town. Cirque du Soleil will be in San Diego from February 25th through March 28 with their show, Kooza. There will never be a better time than now to get your hands on these […]

Walkabout With The Zoo’s Koalas
The San Diego Zoo will be going crazy for cuties from down under during Koalapalooza this Friday through next Monday, Jan. 15 to 18. The four-day event will celebrate the loveable Aussie creatures and give guests the chance to meet the Zoo’s koala keepers, have a close encounter with the animals outside of their usual […]
A Whale Of A Time On The Bay
As you know, around here, we’re big fans of the California Grey whale and we get really excited each year during their annual migration through the waters off our coast. If you’re like us and love the sea’s gentle giants or even if you are just into free family fun, mark your calendar for […]
There Is a Santa Claus!
If San Diego has no official Santa Claus yet (and happens to need one), I nominate Bill Swank.
New Year’s Eve – San Diego Style!
So if you’re like me, you still haven’t quite gotten around to figuring out what you’re going to do for New Years Eve yet. The usual questions arise: Go big or keep it low key? Big public event or an intimate affair with just a few friends? This year I’m kind of leaning towards going BIG. […]
I Love a Parade
There is no shortage of holiday fun to be had here in town, but me — I love a parade. Here are three San Diego holiday parades I don’t miss.
It’s Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas
I know, I know…We haven’t even celebrated Thanksgiving yet…but the spirit of the holidays is just so contagious!!! Especially in San Diego, where we put a sunny twist on “Seasons Greetings.” Here’s a sneak peek at the holiday events kicking-off in November (click on photos for more info):
A Star Is Reborn
Star of India, the world’s oldest active sailing ship, spent three weeks in dry dock this summer for its decennial maintenance and came back looking better than ever, just in time to celebrate her 146th birthday this Saturday, November 14. The Maritime Museum of San Diego will give her a proper birthday party complete with cake — and everyone is invited!
Veterans, It’s Your Day
Veterans Day falls on November 11, the anniversary of the Armistice of World War I — not a great battle but an achievement of peace. Each year, San Diego honors United States veterans with the San Diego County Veterans Day Parade taking place downtown on Pacific Highway beginning at 11:00 A.M. Everyone is invited to […]
