San Diego Offers Free Use of Beach Wheelchairs in Mission Beach
The City of San Diego’s Park & Recreation Department provides a number of services for the disabled – including free use of motorized beach wheelchairs that allow those with mobility disabilities to propel independently along the sand at Mission Beach. There’s even a non-motorized chair that allows users to roll right in to the ocean.

Stellar Finds at the Palomar Observatory in San Diego’s East County
Fall is here and there’s no better time to visit scenic East County where the trees are starting to change into a kaleidoscope of autumn colors – a real treat for leaf peepers! Over the weekend I trekked to East County’s legendary Palomar Observatory to do some exploring and I’ve got to say, it was out of this world! (pun intended)
Jetpacks! Fly Like James Bond over Mission Bay with Jetpack America
When thinking of James Bond, I think of sophistication, gadgets, fast cars, exotic and tropical locations, and the jetpack opening from Thunderball. While I may never have an exploding pen, be able to afford an Aston Martin DB5 or have the constant need to wear a suit (my San Diego wardrobe usually consists of flip-flops!), I was able to fly like James Bond with a water-powered jetpack flight over Mission Bay from Jetpack America.
