This is the weekend of the festival. With weather projected to be above 70 degrees all weekend, what better way to celebrate being in San Diego than participating in one of these fun festivals. Which one sounds fun to you? Little Italy FESTA!: In its 16th year, the Little Italy neighborhood continues to celebrate its […]

San Diego and the Fish Taco – A Perfect Pair
There are two things that are sure to get San Diegans talking (other than sports); Which beach is the best, and where to eat the best fish tacos. While the fish taco officially started somewhere in Baja, San Diego has adopted it as its signature dish. Fish tacos can be found pretty much anywhere in San Diego – from the chain restaurant Rubio’s (one of the founding fish taco locations in San Diego) to more fine dining – George’s Ocean Terrace. So when you visit San Diego, be sure to try one – you won’t be disappointed. After the break are some of my favorite places for fish tacos.
5 to Try:Historical Sites
I am a lover of many things; however, history is not one of them so when I heard that San Diego was the birthplace of California (I may have dozed off during that class… sorry Mom), I was surprised that many of the state’s beginnings took place right here in my stomping grounds. With a […]
Hitting the Hot Spots (With the Kids)
So you are coming to San Diego for a convention or vacation and staying downtown (can anyone say – Gaslamp Quarter?). Oh wait, you’re coming with the kids. Don’t despair, there are actually quite a lot of things to do that entertain both parents and kids alike. What to do: Children’s Museum and Children’s Park […]

Lighthearted Fun with Pump Boys and Dinettes!
As an admitted theatre fan, I am always psyched to get the chance to see another performance. That’s why I was thrilled to get the chance to see “Pump Boys and Dinettes” the other week at the Downtown theatre for Lamb’s Players Theatre. They do a fantastic job of producing fun, entertaining, musicals (my personal favorite […]
Hopping My Way Through The Gaslamp Quarter!
It’s not many Wednesdays that I can combine eating great food, the history of San Diego’s Red Light District, electronic music, a dessert pizza and getting the chance to meet a handful of great people! Last week I had the pleasure of taking one of So Diego Tour’s Restaurant Hops in the Gaslamp District that incorporated all of […]
There Is a Santa Claus!
If San Diego has no official Santa Claus yet (and happens to need one), I nominate Bill Swank.
I Love a Parade
There is no shortage of holiday fun to be had here in town, but me — I love a parade. Standing along a street crowded with thousands of my fellow townsfolk, a small child on my shoulders, one strapped to my chest (a new take on “strapping, young man”), watching a big, colorful, musical party go by — that’s the reason for the season, you ask me. Here are three San Diego holiday parades I don’t miss.
