Nightlife San Diego – Rooftop Lounges in the Gaslamp Quarter
As I write this blog post I am in the process of planning my evening’s itinerary and have decided that tonight is a rooftop night. Not only does San Diego’s great climate allow for fantastic beach days, tons of water sports and plenty of outdoorsy activities, it also allows locals and visitors alike to enjoy the nightlife outside as well!
Rooftop bars, lounges and nightclubs abound in San Diego – where revelers often relax in front of fire pits, listening to the soft thump of lounge music and sipping on their favorite cocktails.
Many of these rooftop oases are spread throughout, though not limites to, the Gaslamp Quarter. After the break are just a few options for an evening of lounging under the stars.
St. Patrick’s Day Nightlife in San Diego
The luck of the Irish has befallen us this year because St. Patrick’s Day is on a Saturday! What exactly does that mean? It means a full day of holiday revelry – and you know how San Diegans like a good holiday!
San Diego Mardi Gras Celebrations
What will you be doing the night of February 21st? While you may not be stumbling along the streets of Bourbon Street chucking strings of beads to wide eyed revelers, hopefully you will be celebrating Mardi Gras right here in San Diego!
Beach Nightlife in San Diego
As I’ve mentioned many times in the past, the beauty of San Diego’s nightlife scene is that there is something for everyone. Whether you’re wearing your best Sean John outfit or would rather party it up in your boardshorts and a t-shirt, San Diego has a place for you to wile the night away. Looking specifically at the more relaxed, “beach style” nightlife of Ocean Beach, Mission Beach and Pacific Beach, there are a number of great options.
Check them out after the break…
Obstacle Races in San Diego – Are You Tough Enough?!
Having just completed the Southern California Spartan Race last weekend in Temecula, my interest in obstacle races has piqued. Who else out there enjoys torturing themselves by running miles and miles while climbing over/under walls, jumping fire, dodging gladiators and in general just beating your body to a pulp? I certainly didn’t think I was going to be “that guy,” but I challenged myself to do the Spartan this year as a motivator to improve my fitness and health in 2012 – and ended up enjoying it (did I just write that?!).
So for those who are already into these types of races, or those that would like to challenge themselves, after the break are a few other San Diego obstacle races that are happening in the not too distant future
Nightlife San Diego – North Park
The North Park neighborhood has gone through a number of changes over the last several years and has really become a “scene” to check out. With a its own relaxed vibe, North Park nightlife definitely differs from Downtown. Part of North Park’s appeal is its variety of nightlife and its unassuming nature. People from all walks of life head to down 30th Street and University Avenue when they just want to kick back and relax and have a little fun.
San Diego Restaurant Week – Mission Valley style
I love San Diego Restaurant Week! What better excuse do you need to meet up with friends you haven’t seen in a while and dine on some of the region’s best food at great prices? With over 150 restaurants participating in this year’s Restaurant Week, I thought I’d narrow down the choices and talk about some options in my hood – Mission Valley.
New Years Eve Parties Big and Small
San Diego has a wide variety of amazing New Year’s Eve parties lined up. Here are a few ideas for those still trying to decide where to go.
