Break out the shades and flip flops, it's officially summer season in San Diego. After the break are our five to try for this 3-day weekend. What will you be doing?
What Would You Endure for an American Dream?
That is the inadvertent question asked by the latest La Jolla Playhouse production, Hands on a Hardbody. Based on a 1997 documentary about a group of Texans vying to outlast each other by placing one gloved hand on brand new Nissan truck in hopes of driving off with it, this new American musical engages the audience to ask themselves these questions: What you are willing to do for your dream?

Summer weather, ocean views, live music concerts….what more could you want? Two tickets to enjoy this trifecta of San Diego summer? You got it! We want to send you to Humphreys Concert by the Bay to enjoy your own star-studded evening. We are lucky San Diego’s outdoor summer concerts don’t have to wait until June 21st to begin. This summer, make sure to see a concert at one of the three waterfront venues.
5 of San Diego’s Top Tots: Best Restaurants for Tater Tots
Maybe it’s the crispy crunch of the golden brown crust. Maybe it’s the warm, fluffy comfort of the soft potato interior. Or maybe it’s that each bite transports you back to a simpler time, when Saturday morning cartoons and the contents of your lunchbox were the only troubles that weighed on your mind. Whatever the reason, the appeal of the charmingly nostalgic tater tot can’t be denied.
Satisfy your inner schoolboy (or girl!) with tasty tots from one of these top 5 San Diego spots (in no particular order) after the break.
5 Great Camping and Fishing Spots in San Diego
A few years ago I decided to try some tent camping in order to get an early start on some shoreline fishing at Lake Jennings, just one of a handful of lakes in San Diego County where camping can be part of the fishing experience. There’s something unique and very worthwhile about camping above the suburbs of San Diego’s East County and looking down at the city lights from a bluff above the campground.
Visitors can easily catch this view and more at one of the following five (in no particular order) great places in San Diego for a relaxing weekend of camping and fishing in San Diego.

5 to Try: Roadside Wonders of San Diego’s East County
You might recall my blog awhile back on Quirky Roadside Attractions in San Diego’s East County region. With Memorial Day around the bend, now is the perfect time to map out another adventure to discover some wonderfully fascinating finds in our backcountry. After the break are 5 to Try:
7 Great Taco Joints in San Diego
San Diego is home to some of the best tacos in the USA due to a world beyond Rubio’s world famous fish taco and Old Town’s bastion of Mexican eateries rarely seen by tourists. Out there, away from the prying eye of technology, is a stellar collection of succulent meats and robust salsas whose only digital existence is relegated to the near beatific ravings of Yelpers. Below are seven temples of taco worship (in no particular order) not to be missed on your food pilgrimage to San Diego:

When it comes to museums, Balboa Park can’t be beat. With 16 different museums housed on its 1,200 acres, it’s no wonder that Balboa Park is often referred to as the “Smithsonian of the West.” Take a video tour of some of the park’s amazing art museums.
