One of my favorite foodie bloggers, Kate once told me that San Diego is located on almost the same latitude as Japan’s capital. Yep, head practically due East across the Pacific from San Diego and you’ll end up in Tokyo. Or, save on airfare and head over to the 10th Annual Beer and Sake Festival. […]
3 for Free: Wheel fun in San Diego’s East County!
Summer’s finally here – my favorite time of year to hit the open road and explore San Diego’s scenic backcountry! Our East County is dotted with small cities and towns nestled in the rolling foothills and mountains that entice motorists to their Norman Rockwell-esque main streets with classic car shows the whole family can enjoy.
Get your motor running all summer long at these three FREE roadside events.

The San Diego County Fair will be “Out of this World” when it kicks off June 8 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The theme promises everything from space exploration and science fiction to visitors from other planets. But there’s plenty that we Earthlings can do to keep our fair expenses grounded.

Just Beachy: Coronado Named #1 Beach in America!
Shhh… can you keep a secret? I almost couldn’t. I’ve known for weeks that postcard-perfect Coronado Beach was going to be crowned America’s Best Beach by “Dr. Beach.” However, I couldn’t tell a soul. I promised coastal expert Stephen Leatherman (aka Dr. Beach), that mums the word until May 25.
And today’s the day! I’m shouting it from the highest sand dunes on the island that Coronado is the #1 stretch of sand in the United States!
6 Shopping Gems in San Diego’s Little Italy
As a personal wardrobe stylist I am always on the look-out for unique and easily accessible areas to take people shopping, especially with my shopping tours, and Little Italy is just this type of place. I can easily walk the main drag, India Street, perusing in and out of my local favorites and I always save some time to stop in any of the quaint coffee houses to energize with some caffeine!
After the break are just a sampling of my personal favorite Little Italy shopping gems.
