5 to Try This Weekend in San Diego
Cinco de Mayo in San Diego doesn’t get any better…and on a weekend? Fabulous! After the break are my 5 to Try for this weekend. What will you be doing?
San Diego Fun in the Rain
I know most people don’t like it (especially San Diegans), but every once in a while it rains in San Diego. Trying to tan on the beach may not be the best option but there are plenty of other fun and exciting things to do throughout the county. Here are just a few ideas of things to do until the sun comes back out.
New Year’s Eve in San Diego for the Whole Family
The combination of dazzling fireworks, bubbly drinks, noise-makers, poppers and staying up late makes New Year’s Eve a holiday everyone loves. While many NYE events are adults only, there are plenty of great events that kids of all ages can enjoy.
5 to Try This Weekend in San Diego
1. San Diego Beer Week: From November 4-13, hundreds of beer-centric events take place throughout the county during this 10-day festival that highlights San Diego’s award-winning craft beer, breweries and pubs. Two capstone events are the San Diego Brewers Guild Festival’s kick-off on November 5 at Liberty Station on Point Loma and the closing event, a beer and food pairing at the Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla on November 13.
Kids Celebrate October in San Diego with Freebies
October is a great month for families to visit San Diego County museums and attractions – because at many of them, kids under 12 get in free all month-long. About two dozen museums and attractions are participating. It’s a great opportunity for families to learn about art, history or science in a fun and interactive environment.

This week my kids and their friends started SeaWorld Camp. The idea of spending the week at SeaWorld seeing the shows, riding the rides and learning about ocean animals was not a hard sell. Yesterday was their first day and it did not disappoint. I was met with excitement as they all related their favorite […]

Don’t despair, there are actually quite a lot of things to do that entertain both parents and kids alike. What to do: Children’s Museum and Children’s Park – This […]
Geometric Fun at the Fleet
Scientists six and up (including me in my late 20s) can enjoy hands-on and educational fun with the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center’s new exhibition Geometry Playground. The main piece, A Stack of Stars, is a stack of Stellated Rhombic Dodecahedrons (SRDs) that young scientists can climb through. I think of it more as a […]
